Transferring Your Domain From GoDaddy to Credo Technology Group, LLC
This guide explains how to transfer your domain from GoDaddy to Credo Technology Group, LLC. It is written for everyday users and does not require technical knowledge. Because GoDaddy changes their dashboard often, the exact buttons or pages you see may look slightly different.
1. Log In to GoDaddy and Prepare the Domain
- Sign in at GoDaddy.com
- Go to My Products
- Select the domain you want to move
- Turn OFF Privacy Protection
- Turn OFF Domain Lock / Transfer Lock
- Find the Authorization Code / EPP Code and save it
2. Save Your DNS Records
If your DNS is hosted at GoDaddy, save your DNS records so your website and email continue working:
- Take screenshots of all DNS records, or
- Copy them into a document, or
- Download/export the DNS zone file if available
3. Start the Transfer at Credo Technology Group, LLC
- Log in at https://ctghosting.com/clientarea.php
- If needed, click your name → Switch Accounts
- Start the transfer: https://ctghosting.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer
- Enter your domain name
- Enter your EPP/Authorization Code
- Proceed to checkout
Note: ICANN requires 1 additional year of registration when transferring a domain. There is no transfer fee — only the cost of adding the additional year.
4. Choose Nameservers
Most Credo clients use Cloudflare. If Cloudflare is already configured, use the nameservers shown in your Cloudflare dashboard.
If unsure, contact Credo for confirmation.
5. (Optional) Speed Up the GoDaddy Approval
Sometimes GoDaddy allows you to manually approve the transfer:
- Go to Domains → Transfers → Transfers Out
- Look for an Approve or Accept button
If the button is not available, the transfer will continue automatically.
6. Verify Your Domain After Transfer
When the transfer completes, you will receive an email such as:
IMMEDIATE VERIFICATION REQUIRED FOR yourdomain.com
You must click the verification link to avoid domain suspension.
Transfer Complete
Your domain will appear inside your Credo client portal. Credo can assist with DNS setup, hosting, email configuration, and Cloudflare setup.
