Transferring Your Domain Away From Credo Technology Group, LLC

This guide explains how to transfer your domain registration from Credo Technology Group, LLC to another domain registrar such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare Registrar, Squarespace, or another provider.

Transferring a domain does not automatically move your website, email, DNS, or hosting services. Those services may continue operating with Credo unless they are separately changed or canceled.

1. Log In to Your Credo Client Portal

Sign in at:

https://ctghosting.com/clientarea.php

If needed, click your name and select Switch Account.

Go to:

Domains → My Domains

Select the domain you want to transfer.

2. Unlock the Domain

Open the domain management page and disable the Registrar Lock or Domain Lock.

The domain must be unlocked before another registrar can transfer it.

3. Obtain the EPP / Authorization Code

From the domain management page, locate the option for:

EPP Code or Authorization Code

Request or copy the code.

This code works like a transfer password and will be required by the new registrar.

4. Start the Transfer With Your New Registrar

The transfer is started at the new registrar, not from the Credo portal.

At the new registrar:

1. Choose Transfer Domain

2. Enter your domain name

3. Enter the EPP / Authorization Code from Credo

4. Complete their checkout and transfer process

Most registrars charge for an additional year of domain registration as part of the transfer.

5. Watch for Transfer Approval Emails

You may receive an email asking you to confirm or approve the transfer.

Follow the instructions in the email if approval is requested.

If no manual approval option is provided, the transfer will normally proceed automatically after the required waiting period.

Important: DNS, Website, and Email

Transferring your domain registration does not automatically change your nameservers or DNS records.

If your DNS is hosted through Cloudflare, Credo, or another provider, those DNS settings can usually remain in place during the registrar transfer.

Likewise, transferring the domain does not automatically cancel:

• Website hosting

• Email hosting or Microsoft 365

• Cloudflare services

• DNS management

• Website maintenance

• Other Credo services

If you intend to move or cancel any of these services, please contact Credo separately so we can coordinate the change and help prevent website or email interruptions.

Transfer Restrictions

A domain may temporarily be unable to transfer if it:

• Was registered recently

• Was transferred recently

• Is expired or in certain expiration/recovery states

• Has a registrar transfer lock

• Is subject to a temporary transfer restriction following certain ownership/contact changes

Transfer Complete

Once the receiving registrar completes the transfer, the domain registration will no longer be managed through the Credo client portal.

Any remaining hosting, email, DNS, security, or other services provided by Credo will remain active unless separately canceled.
